Our Go - To Comfort Food

As the nights draw in and autumn is upon us, we look forward to indulging in our favourite comfort food, as we stay safely at home.

Sharing a hearty meal with family or a couple of close friends give us the ultimate satisfaction on a cold evening. What better way to beat the lockdown blues than catching up around the kitchen table, over a homecooked meal?

A Sunday roast is high on the list of comfort food - but be sure to make the most of your slow grown chicken by using every ounce of it for a weeknight leftover meal, as well as making nutritious chicken stock.

A roast chicken is a classic option for a Sunday lunch. To ensure it’s cooked to perfection, follow our fail-safe Classic Roast Chicken recipe, best served with crispy roast potatoes, seasonal veggies, and gravy.

Vietnamese Pho is packed with natural goodness, with the broth helping to build up your immunity at this time of the year. Recently Tony, of @fitfatfunfood on Instagram, shared his Sutton Hoo Chicken Pho which will happily simmer away on the stove for dinner.

Another mid-week meal, perfect for using your leftover roast chicken, is an authentic risotto. Our chicken, pea and lemon risotto is a firm favourite and surprisingly simple to make.

These super tasty recipes use chicken stock made from your roast (our simple guide will show you how to make stock) and mean you can make the absolute most of your Sutton Hoo chicken. Plus, you can rest easy in the fact that our slow-grown chickens, roam freely in Suffolk, giving the birds the best possible welfare.
